Make that Promise to Yourself. #NaNoWriMo2016
Reading and writing are a transformational and developing platform to help adults and children alike tap into their imagination and education. An excellent opportunity to open the windows to a global world that is out there waiting for us to absorb.
For ten years, through ‘Book Swap’ donations, I have been able to gift books to children’s libraries in schools encouraging them (as their teachers do too) to read and write daily.
Through these mediums and experiences as adults, we receive our Master’s Degree from the University of Life.
This present moment could be the catalyst that changes you as you start to write the novel you have talked about time and time again.
Talking is cheap, knowledge is a powerful gift we each can access. You can inspire yourself and others but only if you ‘Action’ what you know.
Get to the page, set a goal, how many words are achievable each day? One paragraph followed by another, write, commit.
Include the Children in your life – Children’s Book week was 31st October -6th November.
Why stop, keep the momentum at a pace that includes them. Encouragement excitement, imagination and motivation will allow the kids to write their story along with yours. Support each other by making it a group and family activity.
At the end of the day, read your work out loud and carry on.
Perhaps ask the little ones who cannot write yet, to draw or paint a picture. Later encourage them to recount the story as they see it.
Let us encourage each other this month to learn more about language, people, feelings, culture, allowing us to communicate, be creative and observe life in a different way.
Writing, books and reading are the windows to a wonderful world. By allowing our imaginations to develop we can and will change our lives and that of your children forever.
Long may I be able to encourage my readers and audience to immerse themselves in this world of reading, exploring and writing stories.
Prepare to be amazed by the results, let the magic of writing and your long awaited dream come true, yes that first novel is complete!
And now I must get to the page as I continue my journey of learning my craft of writing for you dear readers. #NaNoWriMo2016
