Time to Celebrate
It’s “National Storytelling” Week
I believe Storytelling;
Inspires, Teaches, Transports and Effects Change
And
A Storyteller speaks from the heart, enriching the reader/ listener, touching and moving us to share emotions and a memory or memories that stay with us.
As a Storyteller
I have the responsibility to grab my readers attention, taking them on an exciting journey, one they wish to go on. I hope to transport my readers into my world with drama, intrigue, sadness, adventure, mystery, laughter, memorable moments with many sprinkles of Irish humour.
Words draw us in to ignite feelings, passion, allowing magic to happen, where the reader can dream bigger dreams as they immerse themselves.
Storytelling, Reading and Writing are the windows that allow each of us to tap into our powerful imaginations and support education. As an ever developing platform to help both adults and children, it is transformational-enabling us to reach out, learning more about language, people, and culture. Storytelling gives us new skills of communicating, observing life in a different way.
And there is the opportunity to extend our story to open our eyes and ears to the Global World of Biz.
In 2014 the Corporate World revealed; ‘Storytelling is the new Buzz Word for Business’s’ to develop their brand further and to raise their profile. It has become a significant element in delivering memorable presentations to potential customers/clients, building, even more, loyalty and healthier relationships.
Storytelling is an important part of ‘KickStarter and Crowdfunding’ where each nominee has to stand out; relaying their captivating story to motivate interest for Entrepreneurs to invest and support new business ideas, financially.
Could National Storytelling Week be the catalyst that changes you as you start to write the story, the blog, the presentation or the novel?
Set a goal, one paragraph followed by another, followed by….
Why stop after a week? Plan a project for the next 365 days.
Let our imaginations and ideas flow: – support and motivate each other in National Storytelling week, to include friends, family children and work colleagues.
Organise a mini event to read out loud all that you have written at the end of the week.
Perhaps ask the little ones who cannot yet write, to draw or paint a picture and encourage
them to recount their story as they view it.
Time to ‘Get to the Page’ write, enjoy telling your Stories…that speak and resonate from the heart.
