Eat Right for Your Type.

 

Eating healthily, exercising and helping others has been part of my life for more than twenty-five years. From a young age, I knew I had food intolerances but that never stopped my passion for great tasting food.

For twenty years I was living with a chronic illness that not one doctor or professional was able to diagnose until April 1997 when I was given the news,

“You have M.E.—Myalgic Encephalopathy—the worst case scenario I have ever seen, due to the fact it took so long to get a positive professional diagnosis.”

“By the year 2000, there was no improvement. I woke up one morning and threw some of my tablets into the big green bin at the side of the house and flushed the remainder down the toilet. This was my secret as I set about researching every aspect of M.E. Step by step I started to create a more structured life with natural supplements, an energising organic diet, and some gentle exercise.”

It was recommended to me by a Kinesiologist in 2000. On my first visit, he confirmed my energy levels at 19%
Being a Positive A – To my surprise, the book revealed I was a hunter-gatherer and needed to eat a more plant and grain-based diet. I immersed myself in this plan; even my Superhero Chris became an advocate.

Within 6 weeks of eating strictly according to my blood type – there was a little miracle, as my energy levels rose to over 56%. I walked back into this mans surgery with an ear to ear smile on my face. Something was starting to change and work for me. I could feel a surge of energy and a radiant glow at the end of what had been a long narrow dark tunnel.

Later I bought ‘Cook Right for Your Type’ I already had much of the knowledge and was able to adapt certain recipes-

Since those early tentative years, I continue to edit and readjust my way of eating, one that is in tune with my body intolerances and well-being. As ever it is about enjoying the best possible energy and sustaining it each day.

My body needs a little animal protein through eating, Fish and Turkey and occasionally, organic lamb. Pulses and grains are eaten with great caution and care. I continue to dip in and out of these books as reference pointers.
No one way of any eating plan is ever fool proof or going to work for everyone- Each of us responds and has different needs at different times of our lives.

One thing is for sure ‘Eating Right for Your Type’ was one of the catalysts and first positive steps to opening the heavy door into brightness, walking my path and managing my health. It has brought me to here….for that, I remain truly grateful.
