Why do you hide behind
doors and clothes?
What are you so ashamed of
that is all yours?
A gift, a miracle you were born with,
There is nothing wrong with being
female, having curvy bits.
Be Proud
Listen here to the audio version with Miriam reading
Did we inherit this shame and guilt
From our grans and mums,
That women must hide,
fearful, of what we or others
might see?
As you look in the mirror
why do you criticise and scrutinise
your female shape?
Can you learn to love
how you look?
The feminine body is not for covering
up.
Be Proud
I spent twenty-five years afraid to let people in.
It affected my relationships with boys then
with men. The critical eyes
from my female kin.
Be Proud
Now I walk around oozing confidence and
style,
No longer afraid to flaunt
And show the best of
all that is mine.
Love your body,
It’s the only one you’ve got,
Don’t be afraid to show it off.
Look in the mirror each day and repeat
out loud
I am gorgeous, I am me
a reflection of who and what
I can be.
Be Proud
