The Cancer Support Group- Fundraising Coffee Morning

This week has been full of surprises and the 7th of July was no exception.

My husband Chris Pollard, invited me to join him at Romney Marsh Community Hub for a coffee, chat and fundraising Event for the Cancer Support Group on Friday. Of course, I felt happy to support this important morning and gift the novel as one of the raffle prizes.

Wendy, Sheila and Chris are the coordinators, who originally set up this valuable and important group almost 2 years ago.

I was completely taken by surprise when Wendy asked if I would share a few words about my personal cancer journey. Initially, I protested, saying ….. “But I have simply come to this event to support you three, the group and the attendees.” She smiled, and I could see she was not taking no for an answer.

I felt humbled to stand before such a caring audience, knowing that many share similar experiences.

Chatting with a few of the cancer group, I was touched by the unwavering resilience of those fighting against cancer.

Wendy also suggested I talk about my new book, “Second Chances.”

A touching tale that takes us on a journey from India to Kent, UK, following the intertwined lives of the residents who live on the same road.

A poignant, multigenerational tale of connections and community, showcasing the unbreakable human spirit and the hope that can come from taking a leap of faith. Obviously, this story is sprinkled with love, a touch of romance and humour too!

I hope, “Second Chances” will inspire and uplift those who read my novel.

We can make a difference and pay it forward, offering second chances to those who need them.

Huge thanks for the warm welcome, to The Community Hub Team, the organisers, volunteers, and attendees. A memorable event. I look forward to joining the group soon where we can support each other and share more tales.
