Xross Polynation Art Gallery – A Precious Gem in Maidstone

April 6, 2016

On Monday 4th April I spent some truly memorable hours at Xross PolyNation Art Gallery (@XPolynation)

I was thrilled to be invited by the Patron to speak about my life and the journey I have taken to becoming a published author.

What a warm welcome on this sunshine morning as I stepped into the gallery filled with diverse and story telling, inspiring works of art. Positive energy filled each room.
It was a pleasure to meet and talk with new and interesting creatives. Also to meet and chat with Gillian Smissen (@smissa66), Rachel Chilver of The Harmony Therapy Trust and Christine Locke of Diversity House (@diversityhouse) both local Charities.

Just after noon Liz White of White Word Media (@maidstoneeditor) kicked started the Event with the introduction of esteemed Guest of Honour Speaker
Paul Andrews also of Channel Radio, Kent fame (@vanillaweb). He grabbed everyone’s attention with his inimitable wit and humour. His talk honed in on how ‘business life has changed, small is the new big, on collaboration and how social media allows us to reach out globally.’

I talked about my journey of healing and writing that took me to the mountains of south west Turkey where I was inspired to write Shattered Dreams and Scorpions at Midnight – a search for sanctuary and with a natural flow the release of my 1st Pocket Book, Shattered Dreams and Scorpions at Midnight-A Pocketful of Inspiration published by mPowr both released in 2015. I read an extract from my book the story: ‘Feel the Force amongst the Muşmala and Tomatoes.’ How I met the real Darth Vadar from Star Wars at my local Sunday fresh produce market but he was simply ‘Dave’ to me!

This followed with more animated conversation while many of the guests enjoyed a tour of this magical Gallery.
An interactive Event making new connections. Congratulations also due to David Williams on his new Exhibition of Digital Art at the Gallery-

Again thank you to both the Patron and Caroline McCooey, Creative Director of Xross PolyNation Art Gallery for creating this Event along with Liz White and Chris Pollard (@ChrisJ_Pollard) and for your most kind hospitality.
This precious gem is reaching out and supporting the artists and creatives of Kent giving them a platform to exhibit their work. Let’s each of us living in this great county support our local gifted artists with their voice and story to tell too.

The call back to my mountain retreat is getting louder- soon it will be time for me to hop onto my magic carpet to take me back to my piece of paradise. There I will recharge and continue to write the next volume in this Tales from Turkey series. For those of you who missed this special event visit my UTube Channel..view my Talk https://goo.gl/TXdb0I
