Only doing what Works…..Part 2

I have come to know:-
when we tap into our power and choose a life that truly works for us, what is our norm, only then will our lives flow as it needs to.

The Energy Thieves
_

My laptop, with skype, face time and the social media platforms I use i.e. Twitter/LinkedIn/Face Book are my windows to the world yet I need to remain disciplined in how I use each of them.

Both in my writing cave and outside managing all areas to do with being a writer, blogger and speaker, my days are mapped out by adhering to a timetable. During these hours my mobile and social media outlets are a ‘no go’ area.

On a roll and I want to keep the momentum! Ok when I am in my inspired writing zone I have been known to ignore the beeper, to my detriment and I pay the price later. Being discerning in all that I/we do works.

If I find myself jumping from one thing to another I know I am becoming tired and it is time for a major break-
I have a big typed sign on my noticeboard ‘What can I and only I do right now that will move me forward’ taken from ‘Eat that Frog’ by Brian Tracy
Reading those lines pulls me back to focus.

A few hours rest is essential each day. At the point of rest, my work day is at a close, (unless it is an emergency) and my mobile is on silent.
I rarely use a telephone or my mobile, it saps my energy. When I need to use them, I ensure I have an ear piece in place. With Skype or Face Time I use headphones. My meetings/conference calls are planned and timed otherwise there is a fallout which takes time to recover from.

I surround myself only:-
With people who are positive, uplifting, those who enhance my energy and wellbeing.
Noise, stimulation i.e. mindless, endless chatter, TV, loud music, crowded areas, traffic, shops, lighting are some of the sensitive areas for me.

Taking the Time out to recharge and re balance-

Ongoing treatments of Aromatherapy and Reflexology with Ursula O’Regan (@Ursaroma). This combo works for me. Thanks to Ursula creating aromatherapy oils, I can use them on my skin or in a burner for relaxation, sleep, balance or pain.

Reiki 1 – I practice every other day.

I visit a truly caring and supportive Osteopath, Chris Allen who keeps my body in balance and mobile.
‘City Way’ of Rochester, Kent.

I do what works for me because in the past, when I have stepped too far out of the box or allowed myself to be pressurised ‘To Do’ by others, I have paid a big price, yep falling flat on my face.

I have come to know it is never too late. Each of us can change ‘how we do’ if we really want to. Follow and plan a regime that works for you and only you. ‘Change comes with a single step, followed by another followed by….’

Part 3 next week – all about sleeping rituals.
