In days of old, some cultures considered Turkey Eggs a Delicacy. From the 16th century, they became part of English cuisine.
In this Turkish village, it seems some of my neighbours have taken to rearing Turkeys and now eating and sharing the eggs. We were gifted 2 eggs ( as in the photo) a few days ago. Super Hero volunteered to be the first to taste them.
Due to the fact that the shell is a dense mass of calcium and fibre – How do you crack a Turkey Egg?
It seems a sledge hammer and a strong set of fingers to prise them open works.
Superhero’s feedback
‘A Definite treat a few times a year.’
Due to their higher cholesterol, fat and calorie content, they are richer than chicken eggs with more nutritional content.
As for me I am a chicken egg kinda breakfast gal and shall stay that way! Super Hero ate every morsel of both eggs and looking forward to the next Turkey gifted lot.
