Part 2 ….More Reasons Why..

1.
I am able to cook, eat breakfast, lunch and dinner outside, mindfully soaking up the sounds of nature or the silence of the mountains surrounded by the still forests that have many tales to tell.

2.
Living this healthy, happier, balanced life I truly appreciate how it continues to help me define what to focus on each day, what is important and what works for me.
I realise there is a need to not get sucked into the sometimes ‘chaotic busyness’ of being in a city, a western culture, by staying in this flow of balance when I am back in Kent in the UK.
3.
Joy,
I open my windows and doors in early May. They remain open until early
October allowing pure air to waft through bringing with it restoring energy and light.
No need for door locks.

4.
The sun shines brightly in clear topaz blue skies for a least nine months of the year. No SAD syndrome here!

5.

My wardrobe is lighter, freer, liberating with the clothes I wear.

6.
I get to swim for almost six months of the year in seawater, sometimes intermixed with fresh cold mountain springs. Sea and beach therapy are essential breaks away from my writing cave to re charge and be in the moment again. At these times I have no need to read or use an IPod, the music of the lapping waves as they gently sweep across the sand and shingle…..invigorates and re energises.
7.
I have come to experience how the Turks are ‘glass half full’ kind of people grateful, warm and positive. They do not talk about their illnesses pains or aches or complain. They accept life as it reveals itself each day. Their words “Stress Yok” – No stress!
8.
In my old life darling husband would appear with beautifully presented flowers every weekend. I did not know then how far they had travelled, and the implications to workers who were breathing in the chemicals they use to both grow and keep them fresh.
This exploitation and abuse of labour costs and emissions is quite harrowing and at what cost to our fellow man/woman?
These past years I have the peace of mind and joy, knowing where my flowers come from. Chris picks them as they grow wild or my lovely neighbour’s daughter arrives with bunches of the freshest flowers surrounded by sweet smelling basil or thyme twice a week from her garden, not a chemical or wasted emission in sight. The fragrance is pure and uplifting.
There are more reasons as to why I love my life in south west Turkey and how embracing this way of doing and being for over fourteen years has given me my life back. I remain truly grateful…..to live here and to call this my second home.

Both my Books are now available :- A click, a call or a walk away in store and in stock at Waterstone’s, in Kent and across the UK, The London Review Bookshop, Bloomsbury, London and of course www.amazon.co.uk or/ .com
