A Holiday Alone.

August 16, 2019

Do you ever wish

You could just get away, for a week or even a day

On a beach, soak up the sun, Swim and have some fun,

Without anyone.

No pressure, no ties, No kids in tow,

No partner telling you what they feel you need to know.

Just me, myself and I, alone,

A chance for calm, to think and decide

To sit or chat to some stranger passing by.

A chance to watch the setting sun, whilst sipping a favourite tipple,

To realise this is just the tonic and later, go and enjoy dinner.

To choose to do or not, the company one keeps,

A chance to potter, maybe read, without guilt or fuss.

Or simply re-charge, no chatter.

And now that I am back at home, I am positively glad

To have survived this time alone.

And already planning the next holiday

On my own.
